• Deformable Modeling

ACIS

ACIS bezeichnet auch Volumenkernel von Dassault Systems Spatial, der zu einem Quasi-Standard geworden ist und in einer Reihe von bei CAD-Programmen eingesetzt wird. ACIS ist in der objektorientierten Programmiersprache C++ geschrieben und zeichnet sich durch eine offene Systemarchitektur aus. In ACIS können auch Draht- und Flächenmodelle verwaltet und manipuliert werden.
Spatial wurde 1986 gegründet und entwickelt seitdem den 3D-Modellierkernel.
Ab ACIS Version 6 wurde die Funktion des "toleranten Modellierens" unterstützt. Dadurch können importierte Modelle mit ungenauer Geometriebeschreibung korrekt weiterverarbeitet werden.
In 2008 wurde der Release-Stand 18 erreicht.
